  • Azaden FMX-42u – 4 Channel Portable Mixer w/ USB Digital Audio Output

    Azden’s FMX-42 portable mixer has been trusted by audio professionals in the field for over a decade. Its extensive set of features, handcrafted quality and affordability have made it one of the most popular portable mixers on the market. Now with the new FMX-42u, Azden has added a USB digital audio output for even more flexibility.
    The USB Out on the FMX-42u is designed to connect to a computer, smartphone or tablet and acts as a secondary stereo audio output (necessary USB cables and adapters are not included but readily available from electronics suppliers). This flexible feature could now allow you to use a mobile device or laptop computer as a backup digital recorder, use up to 4 XLR microphones white shooting video with a smartphone or tablet, or even use the FMX-42u as an in-studio mixer for web streaming or podcasting.
    Of course the FMX-42u still boasts the many features of its predecessor, which include 4 balanced XLR line/mic inputs with individual level and pan controls, switchable (per channel) 48V phantom power and limiting, professional quality VU meters for accurate level setting, master level control, 1k tone generator, 2 balanced XLR outputs (line/mic switchable), stereo mini-jack output for DV cameras and a headphone output with level control.
    The FMX-42u can be powered by either 6 internal “AA” batteries or an optional 12V DC external power supply (Azden part #BC-27H). A ballistic nylon carrying case is included.

  • Tascam HS-20 2 Channel Network Recorder/Player

    The HS-20 is a professional two-channel recorder/player that is capable of uploading and downloading files to/from servers via an FTP client function.
    Event lists for recording, playback, and downloading aligned with time-based management are perfect for scheduled playback scenarios such as BGM and in-store announcements.
    Through the combination of event lists with the FTP client function, users can easily create a system in which files uploaded onto the server at headquarters can be automatically distributed and played at different store branches.
    After completing a recording, the HS-20 can automatically upload the recorded data to a designated server.
    Various applications can be performed by combining this automatic upload function with recording/downloading events; for instance, users can automatically upload files from a scheduled recording onto the server, with the files being automatically retrieved from the server for playback or archiving.
    The SNTP client feature automatically adjusts its internal clock via the internet, meaning that recording, playback, downloading, and other events can be executed at accurate, synchronized times.
    The recording/playback format supports BWF/WAV (playback only) and 192kHz/24bit high-resolution recording/playback. SD/SDHC cards and CF cards are used for memory media.
    The recording playback unit possesses a high level of durability that does not require maintenance due to its lack of moving mechanisms.

    New from TASCAM, the MD-CD1 combines CD playback and MiniDisc recording in a single rackmount unit designed to save rack space and installation budgets. Like all of TASCAM’s products designed for fixed installation, the MD-CD1 is a reliable player designed for years of trouble-free use. The unit is stocked with features, such as 12% pitch control, MP3 CD playback, RS-232 control and an optional balanced I/O board that allow it to be spec’d into a wide variety of applications.
    The TASCAM MD-CD1 has a host of professional features like RS-232 control, digital I/O and an optional I/O board for balanced interfacing. CDs can be played back at up to 12% higher or lower, and can even be played back faster without changing the pitch for a “chipmunk” effect. Discs can be duplicated from CD to MiniDisc at up to 4x speed, and a wireless IR remote is included.
